    . The main KP iphone app asks me what region I live in, then offers no indication that I'm supposed to be using A WHOLE DIFFERENT APP just because I live in Washington -- just says it can't find me as a user. Took a long time on the phone to figure this out

    But now that the stability of home ownership and long-term employment have both evaporated, so too has our relationship with possessions changed. Hardly anyone I know wants *things* anymore. Things take up space and add cognitive overhead.

    This! Friends, I’m not judging your grammar when you speak or write, and I don’t think people who paint missing commas onto street signs are funny—I think they’re jerks.

    Professional are not grammar police or scolds. If you meet so-called editors who are those things, run away! The best editors work respectfully *with* authors, not *against* them.

    1/OK, time for a thread about nativism. One central belief of nativists is that you can draw conclusions about immigrants from a country by looking at the characteristics of that country. This often (but not always) ends up being pretty racist.

    One of the Big Lies of the nativists is that immigrants from high-crime countries will commit lots of crime in America.
