I think it shows how desperate AMC is becoming due to hemorrhaging viewership. They have to tout this season as Rick’s last just to get people to perk up their eyebrows since they have no other reason to with TWD nowadays.

Well, this season has actually been good so far, so that’s reason to watch. But the cat was out of the bag shortly after filming for season 9 began, so they probably didn’t have a choice but to acknowledge it.

Well, they hired Sean Bean... so half spoiler. And i am still mad because i had read the book and still hoped and wanted for Ned to survive in that version of the story. Sean is an amazing actor.
