Why isn’t there a movement to get rid of the House Apportionment Act of 1929? Easiest way to at least fix the House & Electoral College - without the need for an Amendment.
I ran for House with this as a central issue. But, that didn't go far. I can think of several reasons why expanding House is not a hot topic for Ds. For starters, party leadership would lose some power over a larger caucus & establishment Ds don't want more voices from the left..

Also, it's hard to imagine a political equation that doesn't involve campaign financing and more candidates would equal more competition for contributions. The Ds would gain the most here, but there would likely be more toss up races also that would suck up financing.

Sure there is: choose reps like we do juries, then have what amounts to a recall election every 2 years. Skip the campaign crap altogether. TV in election years would be a little quieter, anyway.
