This is such an iconic Philly moment. I must ask: where did the cheesesteak come from?

When he was in college in Philly, my cousin was mugged for the third time in a week and all he had on him was a pizza so his friends ran and they look back and he’s swinging the box screaming YOURE NOT GETTING MY PIIZZZAAAA and the muggers ran.

But I get it. My YA, I fear, can never truly capture the beauty of my dear old friend who used an entire container of dental floss to fashion a clothes line for his dorm room.

I will bake cheesecake for you and

You just did. I completely pictured it and wrote a whole sequel in my head. Spoiler alert, the cheesesteak was enjoyed and it’s capture was probably talked about for years. The story has been shared, isn’t that better than the cheesesteak itself?

I still talk about a Twix bar I accidentally stole at 5 years old. It was so good. My mother enjoyed it as well. She actually said to go back and steal some more. In retrospect that makes her sound bad but at the time we laughed as only a parent and thieving child can.
