The fact that I had to actually think about survival using my own body to look, crouch, crawl on the floor, peek from around corners, manually reload my gun, etc. at all times was just a profound experience. I really had put myself in Alyx's shoes in order to bypass challenges.

And of course the emotions came from the fact that myself and many others have waited over 12 years to see Half-Life return, and it's done so in the best possible way I could have ever imagined.

HL:A feels like a game that shouldn't exist right now. It truly felt like I was playing something that should release in like 2035. It's that good. Easily my favorite Half-Life game yet, and easily my GOTY.

I am doing my best to not say any more, but let me just end this with a quote from "our mutual friend" that summarizes the long years of waiting and the future of Half-Life going forward: Prepare for unforeseen consequences.

One last note: seeing City 17 and its inhabitants rendered in actual real-life proportions was just nothing short of mind boggling. The fact that this game looks this good in my pics here (all on medium/low settings) is just madness and I have no idea how they pulled this off.pic.twitter.com/OCmOwWyjjf

Sorry some more: there was a specific fight in HL:A that on my first time playing freaked me out so bad that I just collapsed on the floor in fetal position and just took the L. Having multiple -things- surrounding me in VR space was just too much!!

Also, the entirety of chapter 7 was one of the most fucked up situations I've had to put myself through, thanks to VR. If you know, you know.
