Google client engineers get monstrously beefy boxes. Microsoft employees (used to) get a door. Wanna recruit and show you're good at math? Offer both.https://twitter.com/housecor/status/1091752930305286145 …

It blows my mind to see some companies trying to “save” money by giving developers slow disk drives, insufficient RAM, and old processors. At a common developer’s salary, buying fast equipment quickly pays off. It’s a strategic and recruiting advantage too.

Amazon employees get a literal fucking door. Because desks are too good for them. Many of them also bring their own Mac books. Because why would you pay the money required to provide your professional employees with the professional tools they think they need to do their jobs?

Corps have been infected with a productivity-killing disease called "the open office concept." It's contagious and deadly.

My home office may be small but it has a minibar and LEGO. And internet that has not been ruined by a clueless MSP.

It always blew my mind that in order to have a machine that could actually run our tests i was literally scavenging for hard drives and ram sticks from the pc recycle box 🤦🏻‍♂️
