I think this starts with a misinterpretation of the problem as stated by Google. It is not two different users, it is one user with multiple Google accounts.

Regardless “There is absolutely nothing in this problem description that seems to affect users who chose not to sign into the browser in the first place.” Why bring people who don’t sign into their browser (what even is signing into your browser) into the dragnet?

you can sign in to chrome to sync information from chrome on one device to chrome on other devices. The chrome UI itself now shows the Gmail etc signin state. Google people tell me that's not sync signing, just visibility.

Right. Soon as you make a bookmark (they tell me) you're promoted to sync w/that ID. Big problem I have is clearly this is all about reducing friction to get you to sync though admins can turn off, the problem is your history (topology) of enterprise is synced to a consumer ID.

Hrm. I can't reproduce that, at least on Windows. I can reproduce what I feel is a legit UX concern, though: the "Save or Update password" button when clicked, dismisses the bubble and puts a new bubble in the exact same location, such that any additional click turns on Sync.pic.twitter.com/jcPORPEwdC

But you see the same sync everything is the default. I thought you were saying (thought) it would only sync bookmarks. Bottom line this was all about getting you to sync everything with less friction. That the entirety of the point I was making.
