The funny thing is: the last time I recall seeing someone do that for a statewide office was Anne Richards. It’s like the Texas Democratic Party said: “well, that worked — let’s never try it again.”

I suppose that’s not fair to Wendy Davis’s campaign. But by and large, the statewide races have been a morass of “GOP versus GOP lite,” and I don’t know why.

100% of the ads I saw from the Davis campaign were lame hit pieces against Abbott. It was the worst campaign I've ever seen. :-(
