For what? Process, Platform, or Policy?
We can see how processes & policies are local matters given local facts & circumstances (per constitutional separations of power, rights vs. interests, etc.), but the Platform? Open data, open source & open standards are clearly required. -
And more to that, technology standards are really in everyone's best interests. Just one example: open standards increase choice and lower costs of equipment and defray switching costs.

Asking 50 states & 1000's of counties to do things differently is the most inefficient error-prone method imaginable It's not like there's any objective reason voting via stone tablet is better for 1 state but voting via Apple Watch is better for another state
