You see, standing up to the gaslighting of a narcissist takes an enormous amount of mental strength. It's psychological abuse, after all.

Lying over and over again without shame isn't being dumb, or insane. It's a tactic to make a victim question their own sanity.

And the thing is, until you develop the ability to drawn permanent boundaries, it works. Especially from authority figures or partners.

The constant, calm, shameless repetition of absurdities eventually wears away at the soul. It becomes easier just to play along. It's abuse.

This is common in a certain proportion of family relationships, usually with a malignant narcissist. Dictators do it to entire countries.

With gaslighters, there is no "pivot." There is no appeal to decency or reason. They are abusers, monsters to their very core.

Gaslighters will tell you your memory doesn't work. That you and your "objective reality" is just abusing them. They are the "real victims."

If you bend to them, then they can control affairs, warp situations to their unique benefit. Until you make them stop. NONE SHALL PASS!

There's a point that victims come to when - NOPE - actually, no the FBI director doesn't work "for the White House."

And still, our national abuser lurches forward, ever forward, forever running from his monstrous nature. Pursuing us with lies.
