Some sunshine finally returning tomorrow...and a mild weekend ahead. Could see a few spots in the low 50s Sunday, especially from Boston southward. #wbz

[Storm Total Rainfall] A widespread 1 to 2" of rain fell across much of the region last night and early this morning. There were some localized 2"+ amounts near the south coast.

After a wet and windy night..more mild weather ahead (by January standards). Napkin math...I'm projecting we finish with the 2nd or 3rd warmest January on record. #wbz

Pockets of freezing rain will continue for a couple of hours across interior locales before warming a bit above freezing overnight. Very icy untreated surfaces. #wbz

The window for wintry precipitation is only open for about 2 more hours (until 9-10pm) before the transition to all rain is complete. Slick spots during that time...then we head over to the heavy rain. #wbz

Congrats to NYC...now has secured the latest on record they've ever gone without measurable snowfall

Only a trace of snow has been recorded at Central Park today. The changeover to rain has taken place. 1/29/1973 was the latest 1st measurable snow at 1.8" since records began in 1869. If no measurable snowfall occurs by Jan 29, this season will replace the current record. #NYCwx

Here comes our chance for some minor snow accumulations. Will have the best shot of sticking in the higher terrain where temperatures are colder. #wbz

After tonight, parts of SE Mass will be on the cusp of 10" of rain this month. Almost unheard of for January

It's been so wet that river flooding in January, that's not ice jam related, is expected tonight

[Flooding Possible] Snow develops this afternoon and changes to heavy rain tonight. The heaviest rain is will fall across RI/SE...where 2 to 3 inches rain are expected. This may lead to not only street flooding, but minor river & stream flooding depicted in the graphic below.

The 7-day now runs through the end of January. This time around, the month was completely devoid of any cold arctic air. Helped energy bills, at least! #wbz

Starting off with snowflakes before the transition to heavy rain tomorrow evening. Not expecting a lot, but some snowy PM travel before switching. #wbz

Good old fashioned January Flood Watch out for tomorrow night. Torrential rain (1-2") plus wiping out any snow on the ground from Boston -> south. #wbz

Snow measuring is about as imperfect as it gets It varies within the same town It varies if someone is sending in grass or on a board It varies if you're clearing the board more than you should Snowfall is what you have to shovel or plow on pavement. That is my $0.02

Logan is playing games again. 3 even by Sullivan Square, Charlestown. Right in front of the MBTA salt deposit.

The big Q to our south with this next storm is...will NYC get measurable snow? If they don't get it Wednesday PM before rain, then they'll set the record for longest they've ever gone into the season without any snowfall
