She responded that they were bad actors who weren't interested in protesting but in destroying property and sowing chaos "regardless of where they came from." I still don't know what evidence, if any, exists for the claim that these people "descended" on the city from elsewhere.

Durkan completely avoided your question. She gets to seed skepticism in the protestors without ever having to own up for her lies.
