    I'm of the tactical opinion that activists really shouldn't be spending more than ~10% of their time in electoral politics / hoping politicians don't sell us out. That said, it's pretty fucking apparent that even that 10%, if spent on the Democrats, is a total waste of time.

    now that bernie sold us out for joe expect the squad to drop tweets for $2000 and push for the $1400

    Has any politician currently in office said anything like "Only $1400? What the fuck?" today? How many who tweeted for months about $2000 UBI will remain silent?

    i think the reason why the $1400 thing is so offensive is because $2000 is supposed to be the starting point to a serious failure on part of the gov't to help out its citizens. 1400 implies that they think 2K is the max, like that's the most we deserve. It's so hateful.

    Can every please stop talking about how much a Big Mac costs in Denmark and focus more on obscene inflation and the rise of the cost of living the past 20 years in the USA that isn't tied to an economic strategy more complex than "Let's fuck over the poors and get away with it!"

    In '98 I worked at Wendys and made $7.25—the current federal min wage. A medium #6 combo after taxes came out to $4.45. Today that same combo runs you over $9.00. So when you say doubling the minimum wage will double prices, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about lmao.

    I could write essays about this (and I have) but this is essentially the 1st radical student activist demonstration at UC Berkeley since 9 years ago. ( doesn't really count-- flash in the pan that wasn't student led.) And ofc I worked w/Delacour = good dude.

    Student activists described the move the tear down the fences as a symbolic continuation of the work Delacour started 52 years earlier. (5/5)

    In 1969, Michael Delacour helped turn a vacant lot into People's Park, which quickly became a sight for anti-war demonstrations. On May 15, U.C. Berkeley fenced in the park & began dismantling it. Protests broke out: police shot and killed one bystander and blinded another. (1/5)
