Since I’m currently unable to use my @WavesAudioLtd plugins, I’ve been noticing how few I actually use on a daily basis. Only major issue is I’ve lost my go-to limiter. What is your favorite limiter?

For mono/stereo, Sonnox Oxford Limiter. It’s in my sound design templates. I’ve been using Pro-L 2 for surround mixing, but I’m going to switch to ISL 2 soon I think. Pro-L has a great interface, but sometimes peaks get through.

What out-ceiling do you have set when peaks are peeking through?

-0.1, TP limiting on, Safe style. Tagging

Mmm, gotcha! One reason I set the out ceiling to -0.2 is because sometimes peaks creep up 0.1 or 0.2 dB but I haven't had trouble with them going past 0.0 as a result, at least with the limiters I've used. Would love to see if this helps!

I’ll try it, but... shouldn’t a limiter just stop the signal? At least a brick wall look-ahead limiter with an aggressive ratio, which is what Pro L2 should be when I’m safe mode afaik.

Agreed - assuming you have True Peak mode enabled? I've seen this behavior as well in Reaper at least...

I have true peak mode enabled, and I'm seeing it in Reaper. I got annoyed with it and just switched to another limiter I knew worked well, lol.
