Just out, open access. TL;DR Political realists can be radicals if they do epistemic genealogy critique--debunking and vindicatory. They should, b/c this radical realism is a great way to do properly Marxist critical theory. Also, prefigurative politics.

Awful, but this isn’t so much about wokeness as it is about university bureaucrats trying to increase their power at the expense of academics. Wokeness is just the tool du jour.

Het bestuur van de kiest ervoor om haar beloftes van 2015 als verleden tijd te behandelen. Het Maagdenhuis zit op slot voor studenten, docenten + alumni die op die plek willen terugkijken op de bezetting en reflecteren over toen en nu.

People have a choice. They can keep talking about Bernie bros and broadcast to everyone that they have literally no idea what's happening in the United States, that they genuinely do not pay attention to politics or culture, or they can save face by stopping immediately

There is one satellite precinct left to report, Bernie will likely win it, the DNC chose this moment to press pause on the whole process and start over. If they had any other motive besides preventing Bernie from claiming victory, why not just report the last precinct first?

hardly any of the crunchy leftist intellectuals I know in this country appear to be psyched about , but my Bernie button regularly prompts positive remarks from service workers and passersby. What a weird inexplicable coincidence !

Academics do lots of free labour (e.g. For research councils) and civic labour (I.e. externalling at effectively sub-minimum wage rates). If we withdraw this labour which is also extra-contractual then the HE teaching and research governance practice is screwed.

If you support anyone other than Sanders you’re basically expecting American voters to say: “Dear neoliberalism, all is forgiven, please come back.” How likely is that? In other words: How is any choice a better bet than Sanders?

This is probably just the scientistic analytic philosopher in me, but I live that in our field a single article can have a transformative impact. Makes me think we’re doing something right.

Have any books made a *major* impact in Anglophone political philosophy/theory since Rawls’s Political Liberalism? I can only think of articles/chapters (e.g. Anderson, Williams...). 🤔
