The first paragraph is confusing me--- are browser pw managers differently exploitable than the pw managers mentioned that have browser extensions?

@mathpunk Good q! This research looks specifically at browser-based pw managers (not plugins) & their unique vulnerabilities. The research doesn't speak for plugins, but (as others noted) it's a good idea to avoid auto-fill generally. It does. Browser password management has another problem (in Chrome at least): no manual control. Can’t directly add or edit entries. Have to depend on auto-detection when on the website.
