It's been a fairly constant stream of swag arriving at my front door in the last 6 weeks, but that little orange chair has to be my favourite thing.

I recently started taking to help me sleep, instead of battling insomnia and anxiety every night. Holy smokes. I haven’t slept this well in months. 10/10 highly recommend. Better than any other sleep aid I’ve tried.

As far as I can tell, TikTok is an extended series of So You Think You Can Dance.

Today somebody referred to The Offspring as “punk legends” and thus my faith in humanity dipped a little.

When you’re dropped in to an environment that tangibly values transparency and puts the collective success (as opposed to individual success) at the core of its culture, it’s easy to be inspired and motivated.

One thing I’m really enjoying about my new job is how the company recognizes how critical it is to reward not just performance but learning and progress too, and emphasizes the processes that yield these things, such as seeking help from others, trying new strategies, etc.

Excellent thread on the uncontained engine failure out of Denver earlier this week, how the aircraft handles, and what the pilots did. TL;DR: This is a failure that is planned for, trained for, and designed for.

I’m so thankful I picked this up on a whim. It’s a gold mine of thought provoking leadership principles and contribution principles. Companies should do better. We should do better. I can, and will, do better.

I’ve not been particularly vocal about why I had to make the choice to leave Blizzard (I bring that up because most of my followers followed me because I worked at Blizz), but if you read this book then imagine the opposite, you’ll understand why.

Without getting in to the detail of why(and hopefully without come across as a Reed Hastings fan boi), the content in this book is both an encouragement for positive disruption and a yardstick for failure to adapt and challenge the status quo.

You ever read a book that impacts you so hard that you almost want to flip back to the beginning and read it again immediately? This book just did that for me.

Crap Tier is pretty accurate. Top Tier needs some work because Shepherd’s Pie is considerably superior to Cottage Pie. Cornish Pasty is terribly underrated. Crumpets, while good, probably aren’t God Tier.

I have many issues with the Low and Mid tiers here. Beef Wellington and Pork Pie are low tier foods? GTFO.

A friend of mine posted this picture to Facebook of a cloud that she said “looks like a shrimp”. That’s not what I saw. So I couldn’t help myself.
