1000 structures burned as of now, but fire still raging. Many people missing and many injured. Was just looking at photos from the Yocha Dehe Fire unit that is one of a massive number responding. That's the Wintun Nation's unit from the community which is in Brooks (i.e. Casino)

I don't think there's been any time to do a structure loss count yet.

Thanks, Dave. One of those friend who lives there reports from FB, but nothing official certainly.

I'm sure it's been a lot, but no one really knows.

I really have a problem with this type of coverage. Anyone who listens to radio traffic regularly knows that it reflects conditions on a minute-to-minute basis, as first responders try to plan for the worst case. It often sounds worse than it ends up being.
-
Actually there was a LOT more bad radio traffic. I probably hear near 15 critical burn victims today, along with lots of other priority traffic. But yeah they condense a few clips into a minute.
-
Yeah, I heard those too. This is a bad fire. My point was more that radio traffic about encroaching fire and people trapped often sounds worse in that moment than the outcome, because people do get rescued and evacuated - including those burn victims.

These wildfires in Cali are no joke anymore. It's plain terrifying to be honest. And it breaks my heart everytime so many people lose their homes.

It's a nightmare...
