Yes having an affair, which I would see as between him and his wife, is very different than sleeping with students or using his position as a Teacher inappropriately. I have a hard time understanding why they felt they needed to make it public.
He didn’t have the typical affair with one other person, which is a grave but common misbehavior. Culadasa had affairs with as many as ten women, including prostitutes. This behavior speaks of arrogance, entitlement and patriarchal privilege.

I'm surprised that you feel you understand his situation well enough to make those kind of judgemental assessments in that last statement. It might be good to wait and hear his side of the story before casting stones.
