I agree in principle. Unfortunately there are a number of Buddhist groups with no principles, that only give Buddhism a bad name, and the teachings on love and compassion are lost.
Suffering is not just in the mind. There is material suffering. Climate change is a material issue. 71 million migrants displaced around the world due to war, famine, poverty is a material issue.
