After getting the latest electricity and gas bill, need to look at a heat pump for winter heating.

Though with the efficiency of Nat gas electricity generation (currently usually sub 38%, https://www.brighthubengineering.com/power-plants/72369-compare-the-efficiency-of-different-power-plants/ … ), and in California where about half of electricity is Nat gas generated, net benefit isn't great. My furnace is already a HE, around 92-94% per label.

2020 and still nobody is interested in methane capture/recovery from garbage dumps (which isn't really "renewable" either but we're stuck with the shit anyway and it'd be nice if we used it)
