It's more like, "Arguments for alleviating poverty sound like arguments for alleviating the suffering of a community of entitled, rage-fueled misogynists and gee, why are people [for whom these issues *aren't* mere abstractions] getting so angry that I'm unable to read a room--?"

It's great that he can joke about a community of people that produced Elliot Rodger & Alek Minassian(6 days ago, 10km from my house, 10 people) whose sense of entitlement is so great they actually are sitting around advocating women be forced to have sex with them.

There's a certain community that's produced Stalin and Chavez (today, a few thousand miles away, tens of thousands dead), and often makes jokes like "eat the rich" or "kill white people". Are you willing to criticize those folks on equal footing? If not, why not?
