I know that AoIR is in October and the situation might be very different by then but it's my favourite conference and what if it gets cancelled???!?

Naming a kitten is hard and I'm being so indecisive about it! I like Leia, but is it *too* Star Wars? We also liked Matilda or Tilda for a bit, then went off it, now I think it might be good again? She also looks a bit like a Molly or a Grace??

. and I adopted a kitten! She's curious and gorgeous and purrs endlessly and we love her so much already. Haven't quite settled on a name yet, but... somehow Leia seems to suit her ❤️

Can't believe my little sister is moving - temporarily!! - to Perth with her fiance. Hope they have a smashing adventure (and then come back!)

I looked so cross on the train because I felt crowded and pushed around that a man sheepishly apologised to me for inconveniencing me with his bicycle and I had to put my People Face back on and say that he was just fine, and good on him for cycling

Really enjoying 's completion seminar, Young Adults, Mobile Messaging, and the Negotiation of (Un)Availability. Such thoughtful, careful (as in, full of care) work that has come together in a sophisticated structure with insight into disconnection tactics 📵💌🙅‍♀️📞📴

Worried I was spending too long proofing these book chapters, but I spotted an author's name spelled wrong and was immediately convinced it's been worth it

Putting some materials online ahead of semester. I'm at the Clayton microstudio - it's set up with lights/microphone/camera to record videos and automatically save them to a USB you bring with you. This is my Welcome to Youth Media video 🎥

Last year some of you fine people were part of a crowdfunding campaign to fund academics in the precariat to write about their experiences (to counter that 'precarity is fine, actually' Convo article). Here's the latest from that collective

The article has benefitted immensely from my scholarly community and I'm so grateful for that. It's also scholarship that foregrounds sexual consent, even when people are pseudonymous - and joy. Social media sex can be so creative, and so much fun, when everyone's into it! 💦

I initially submitted this to a journal that rejected it - but also gave me incredibly thoughtful exit reviews. I read more on affect, spent more time understanding how digital/material desire flowed, and presented at a conference in Finland on affective politics of social media

I'm really proud of this one. I first presented on r/TributeMe and affect in 2016, when I was looking to branch out from the central concerns of my PhD. I was fascinated by affect theory but didn't really get it - until I realised affect is not emotion, but how emotion *moves*
