someone on the TL was asking for interiors publications that don’t feature nepo babies or houses bought by rich parents so just want to remind you that SPACES exists and that we also do nice down-to-earth home tours in nearly every issue of frankie

Glad to hear of new funding for the arts but we can never truly have a scandalous/interesting/all-inclusive cultural output until student payments are raised (evil bi women can afford to study pretentious texts) and jobseeker is raised (gay men return to being bohemian layabouts)

teens dressing like my primary school bully (pleated denim mini, rhinestone bedazzled tshirt) is not ok. dressing like my mum in the early 2000s, though (collared shirt that nips in at the waist, midi skirt, knee high boots, black oroton handbag) - I am on board with

indrive launching in Australia seems kinda absurd given that we don’t have a bargaining culture here
Very excited to listen to the other interviews on this!

the older i get, the more i realize that the most luxurious thing is being able to live in a walkable city. wearing a nice little outfit and walking 15 mins to buy just enough groceries for a single dinner will make you feel like Mrs. Dalloway going to the market

the cotton on group’s website is basically the Australian version of urban outfitters. Can’t believe it took this long for an Australian chain to do it.

thinking about the first time I saw the melbourne shuffle. it was in high school, outside drama class, mid-2000s, the cool mysterious new kid put his ipod on and started gliding. my jaw dropped, everything around me moved in slow motion. lmaooooo

My viet lessons are the best. One min I’m translating a children’s story about an elitist house cat, the next I’m learning about polygamy in VN and by the end I know how to say “why work when you can stay home and do nothing.”

showed my mum some trendy insta knitwear brands (mostly accounts where young people knit everything themselves) and she absolutely roasted their technique

Duolingo keeps making me translate the phrase, “I don’t want to exist, I want to live.” This is a personal attack.

I'm stoked to be frankie's next editor, but tbh I'm still crying inside about saying goodbye to Soph. I feel very lucky to have worked alongside her and been edited by her for the last two and a bit years. If you wanna work with me, apply here: frankie.com.au/jobs

A little bit of news! After 8 excellent years at frankie, 5 as editor, and 50 (!) issues, I'm moving on to new adventures. It was a very hard decision! And I am so sad to say goodbye! But it's the right time for me, and the magazine will be left in @emsydo's very capable hands.

How the heck did the Viet pro-Trump conspiracy theorists get to my old ass neighbour? He doesn’t even have the internet yet he thinks Obama and Biden were born in China. What’s in those community newspapers 👀👀👀👀
