    I can strongly relate to this thread and so can the majority of reporters I know. Journalists aren't certified by annual exams or specific degrees. All of our credibility comes from being accurate on the small stuff as well as the big. And we are highly aware of this

    Note that ED is stating that this is not economically significant - meaning a $100 million+ annual effect on the economy. The 2016 BD rule was deemed economically significant because it would "have annual federal budget impacts of $1.9 billion in the low impact scenario" ...

    Not only did Betsy DeVos not visit a single school while she was in MI, she refused questions about why she won’t visit struggling schools. If DeVos can't show a basic level of interest in our students or our schools, then she shouldn't be in this job.

    Until DeVos it has been standard practice for U.S. Ed Secretary to address the Education Writers Association annual conference and hold a q&a period. Makes sense - it's a chance for them to talk with hundreds of the nation's ed journalists.
