It's okay to take out your own stitches, right? They always do in the movies. Asking for a friend.

Apparently it's whiskey-thirty. I [er, um, my friend] don't even drink whiskey but apparently it's a medical necessity.

I didn't cut the sutures. I untied them. And thus skipped the whiskey stage bc I really don't drink whiskey. Er. My friend.

Yeah, it’s super easy. Cut the knot and pull em out.

The knot came untied. So didn't even have to use scissors.

typically, stitches for superficial wounds can be removed yourself, but I'd recommend going to a doc for it to check for signs of infection, assess healing progress, etc. I wound up removing my own vasectomy stitches, so... welp, that's enough for the over sharing.

In a few cases I have taken out my own fiber stitches, but I don’t have the intestinal fortitude to take out my staples.

I suppose, if you're the sort of milquetoast who gives yourself stitches in the first place instead of just bleeding out like a warrior. ;)

As long as the wound has healed. If not you get to get stiched again. I, uh, of course don't know this from personal experience.
