typically, stitches for superficial wounds can be removed yourself, but I'd recommend going to a doc for it to check for signs of infection, assess healing progress, etc. I wound up removing my own vasectomy stitches, so... welp, that's enough for the over sharing.

In a few cases I have taken out my own fiber stitches, but I don’t have the intestinal fortitude to take out my staples.

I suppose, if you're the sort of milquetoast who gives yourself stitches in the first place instead of just bleeding out like a warrior. ;)

Depends. I’ve done it. But not for, like, abdominal surgery...

As long as the wound has healed. If not you get to get stiched again. I, uh, of course don't know this from personal experience.
