47 minutes into call with Verizon trying to add my mom to my account. One highlight so far: being told that the PIN already used 3X on this call tonight is expired. From overuse, I guess.

-
Now Tiffany B says the PIN isn't working again. I can't do anything unless I change the PIN that has been invalidated by overuse tonight, bc VZ can't get a basic thing done w/o 8 people.

1:23 now. Mom's still not on my account and now I have no pin, bc Verizon's idea of security is to cancel it when they overuse it.

Text message: This confirms your PIN was changed. If you didn't request this change call us by dialing 611 from your VZW phone. Which means they've changed my pin without authorization. Precisely the opposite of secure.

My brother (i'm out at nephew's graduation w/mom and bros) brought out an extension cord so my battery doesn't run out on this ONE CALL.

Did I tell you all that for whatever reason VZ reps keep asking me to repeat stuff. "Can you hear me now?" I kid you not.

Now my brother's on. Can you hear me? Yeah, can you hear me?

Then things started getting interesting--asking senior mom for her passwords. We need a better system for seniors to have workable comms.

So... 8 people later, Tiffany B was at least very helpful, unlike the 7 other people I spoke with. But ... we failed. Plus now I have no pin.

Also, 1 hour 59 minutes. I fell just short of 2 hours on the phone to achieve nothing when I should be visiting my family. "Friends and Family plan"

In case you're having grass-is-greener thoughts, AT&T gave me a similar runaround trying to solve an activation issue.

Surely adding someone to your account isn't complicated as all that?

I wonder if it's the same person I talked to in the past (or is it Verizon's policy to be extremely rude & lie to its customers). The one I talked to told me they didn't have an email account. She found one after I mentioned Twitter. Verizon is trash.
-
I needed an email to send them proof of their offer I used that they didn't want to honor. "It's only for new customers" - "Why was it offered to me in my account then?" - "It wasn't." - "Lady, I screenshot everything." Verizon is trash.

It is saddening to hear that you have had this experience. We want to make sure that you get the proper assistance. Are your concerns with your Verizon Wireless account, or your landline services? *MBG
-
Landline, but that was a while ago & even though it’s tempting to think of rummaging through my old email, finding that Verizon's supervisor's name & dragging her on Twitter, life's too short. She is, though, what makes Verizon one of the most hated companies in the US. 1/2
-
But it looks like she only followed company’s policy. I feel bad for you guys on the front lines who are required to be nice & helpful, unlike your supervisors. I can only imagine how they treat you. Life’s too short, MBG. Think about it. Peace.

Hi there, we've received your message and would love to assist but we need you to follow us at this handle VerizonSupport to do so. ^NHP
-
Thank you for the offer, NHP, but I'm good. I'm never going to change my opinion about Verizon (radioactive waste), and there's nothing that would make me follow any of Verizon accounts. Peace to you and all the front liners, you guys deserve better.

We understand. Have a great evening. ^BAB
