How would you have FBI investigate suspected spy assets that might compromise a candidate?

Well, I wouldn't be so easily persuaded to suspect they were spy assets based primarily on a vague drunk remark.

1) Manafort, Flynn, and Page all stem from far more, going back before campaign. 2) What do you think Papa actually said? It was far more detailed than initial reports make out

1). What does that have to do with Papadopoulos (although I reject the insinuation)? Where was Podestas FISA app? 2) I think Downer purposefully met Papadopoulos to get dirt (like Halper), and Papa mentioned that Mifsud claimed that Russia had "Clinton emails".

1) the point is treating their upstream stuff (or investigations into them, period) as related at all to Papa is an analytical error. Where is Manafort's FISA app?

2) Even assuming Downer met to get gossip/dirt, does that mean Papa telling him stuff that EVEN the DNC didn't know yet is not valid? It's not like Downer could have known the DNC was hacked from the DNC.

A few problems with this. 1) it's never been established what emails mifsud was referring to - - Dnc, podesta, Clinton server?? I suspect it was purposely vague.
