I'm *not* saying it's a good excuse but that's what all too many will say. The GOP had put a lot of effort over the years into dissuading the public from voting because they know it benefits them. When some Dems pull stupid moves like this it only plays into the GOP's hands.

And that is why this year of all years it is important for dems to get to the polls. They have a long sad history of not voting. That has to change. At least this year. Maybe it will become a habit.

I agree completely that this year is especially important. That's why it makes me mad to see such a stupid move by a Democrat as we get closer to the elections, it's bad timing. Hopefully in the future the Dems can pass election reforms that will get more people to vote.
