Thought exercise: If MSNBC hadn't turned itself into the network of paid spook gigs, would Gina Haspel be poised to be confirmed as CIA Director right now? Or was CNN's similar schtick necessary too?

There are outright lies being spewed on CNN and MSNBC that the CIA's own records refute. Moreover, Haspel's own testimony completely undermined any basis for complaint abt Torture Report. And yet, MSNBC and CNN won't tell you that.

I just think the political pressure would be different if Brennan, Hayden, Mudd, and Sipher weren't allowed to present their claims unrebutted. It makes Donnelly's vote far easier.
