Don’t forget he bribed Bondi too.

Yup. Why did none of Trump's friends tell him how stupid it was to run for President?
-
I believe Howard Stern did.

Been following this story, so far the blackmail is suspected but only evidence is circumstantial? (ie we know Cohen/Trump knew about Schneiderman in 2013, and Trump U lawsuit was settled after election for only $25 million). Not expressing doubt, checking what's out in open.
-
Circumstantial, yes.
-
Been wondering if there's something in Cohen's emails that would suggest applying pressure to Schneiderman if that might result in the lawsuit settlement being overturned. I know that's not most pressing issue, but curious.
-
Cohen wasn't careful. There's going to be a lot of stuff in email that is openly admitting things that shouldn't be in email. Putting a blackmail scheme in an email would not surprise me.

Perhaps Trump was able to use his Sniederman blackmail to help his children....https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/how-ivanka-trump-and-donald-trump-jr-avoided-a-criminal-indictment …

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance's behavior has been all around suspicious in numerous cases. Weinstein and Trump. There are probably others.

How do we know Trump was blackmailing Schneiderman?
-
Right now circumstantial evidence.
-
If that were the case, would it be a crime?

I have spent much of the last year think about how NY state officials could investigate Trump (quo warranto) and back up Mueller. But I wondered why they hadn’t done more sooner. Now I get it. With this news, and the convenient “donation” to Cyrus Vance, they bought impunity.
-
But this didn't stop Schneiderman from litigating the Trump University lawsuit, no? How to square that with a theory that Schneiderman was scared off of going after Trump?
-
maybe...other AGs were recruited?
-
I think trump didn't use it, only said he had that card. That was enough for the university deal. Now, find out how the two great (and I mean it) reporters got the lede or idea to start their article.. Had to come from someone.. Just when it's useful.

Do we know that he did blackmail him? He may have had the info to do so, but if he knew he and his kids committed crimes in NYS, he may have decided to eat the fine (esp. given everything else going on with election) and retain leverage for future.
-
Either way, it's even more impt that Schneiderman is gone if Trump had leverage over him. I doubt he has anything on Barbara Underwood. (I am curious about Cyrus Vance tho, especially given this Nat'l Enquirer article from 2016 - pure speculation obvs.)https://twitter.com/jn3sdruMmr/status/994983893668376579 …
