So again: my question. Should the entire USG have avoided any CI work to investigate the suspected RU targets sidling up to Trump? You've said they didn't do enough. I agree: they should have gone LE sooner. Do you agree with that?

I think they tried to verify the Dossier and failed but wanted to keep it going. They should have stopped when the Dossier was a dead end

Except EVERY THING you're talking about that is fairly clearly driven at larger issue. Page is the only one we know of in the dossier. The rest are NOT dossier (including Downer--that meeting precedes existence of dossier).

You guys are all so torqued up about the dossier you're inventing time machines to try to pretend that a bunch of concerns that pre-dated the dossier must have come from the dossier. And ALSO pretending that MI6 wouldn't have started sniffing into concerns themselves.
