Chuck, you're not that dumb. You remember that the denial of spying was about SIGINT. Remember that? What she's talking abt is a foreign partner pursuing HUMINT abt suspected spies. See the difference?

Moreover, what's she's talking about is counterintelligence. I get that it sucks that Trump attracted RU targets like fleas. But to suggest that USG should have done nothing is crazypants.

I mean, where this right wing crusade is at is arguing that Republicans who are suspected spies/spy targets cannot be investigated because they're Republicans. Is that the new rule?

All future campaigns automatically come with a mole and an investigation from the incumbents DOJ etc.

Why not? Precedent says it’s ok now.

So your proposal is that if a campaign is infiltrated w/suspected spying targets bc they did absolutely no vetting and liked people who would work for free, the FBI should do nothing after those suspected targets leave the campaign? Is that it?

Depends on whether or not there is significant probable cause. What I’ve seen so far doesn’t rise to the level of a Democrat inserting a mole into a Republicans campaign etc. If it turns out to be legit, so be it, I’ll change my mind.

Sorry. You're inventing a detail there. "Inserting a mole into a Republicans campaign." And MOST of what is know is after people left the campaign. Again, post-campaign. Bc FBI waited.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_tense/2013/09/04/three_hops_gif_aclu_infographic_shows_how_nsa_s_surveillance_spreads_exponentially.html … Does the three hop rule mean anything to you?

LOL. I was writing about that well before Oremus. But that's not what we're talking about, so stop pretending it is. You are inventing things to justify your stance that GOPers should never be investigated.
