Is there a provision or law prohibiting the release? Or are there good reasons to not release like FISA info?

Good reasons: They're supposed to be kept secret. Unlike FISA, it doesn't require a significant finding of probable cause. Lots of innocent stuff reflected in SARs.

Why? The SARs originated with a private entity, so while sensitive, that can't be classified documents. Plus redact anything that effects am ongoing investigation
-
Not collected as they are. No reason any of these entities would have released the info on their own, much less Columbus Nova .
-
I agree, I assume the info has been leaked, but originated from bank report to gov.

I think it’s possible someone leaked the SARs to counter or highlight what Nunes is doing right now by revealing Mueller knew much more than public knew about 25 hours ago

Yeah, let’s bottle up the incriminating facts in some shadowy government investigation indefinitely, maybe forever.

SARs can be released, they should not be leaked.

Why shouldn't the SARs be public? Who's interests need to be protected? I can understand why in normal circumstances, but if ever an exception was to be made, I can't think of a better time.

Avenattti knows EC’s bank based on its payment to Clifford. He then legally subpoenas for statements, etc. why is that complicated.
-
My understanding's that Avenatti hasn't gotten to the point of issuing any discovery, eg. a subpoena, which is why it's known to have been a leak. And he's refused to name his source.
-
Under what basis? He’s filed lawsuits, why couldn’t he issue subpoenas for bank records?
-
You're only able to issue subpoenas & other requests once you get past the pleading stage of the suit. You can't just file a suit then immediately start subpoenaing everything related to the defendant. A Notice of Subpoena & the Subpoena are filed w/ the court too.
-
I’m not expert on CA law, but the little I’ve seen on this, that’s not true. Plaintiff can begin discovery 10 days after service for docs.
-
From what I'm seeing, you're right, he has civil subpoena power after filing. You just risk sanctions if you abuse it. (last few paragraphs)https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/how-did-michael-avenatti-get-trump-lawyer-michael-cohen-bank-information-2018-5 …

I believe he's just trying to speed along investigation and I appreciate what he's doing. None of it is classified

How do you know whether any SARs have been released?
