"are widely considered torture"? Come on. Also, how about these Qs: Did you review the Yoo memo(s)? Did you think they were plausible views of the law? After viewing the Nashiri treatment, did you think that it possibly did not violate *any* of the many laws . . .

2/ prohibiting torture or CID, or requiring humane treatment? Was it reasonable to believe such treatment might actually be lawful? Perhaps most importantly, did you agree at the time, as CIA later acknowledged (para. 8 of SSCI response), that CIA was woefully unprepared . . .

Also: When you signed off on destroying tapes did you know about the multiple requests to which they were responsive to? Did you weigh Congressional oversight equities in your decision?
