Incidentally, for those who don't know, the Eastern District of VA courthouse is back-assward and doesn't allow any electronic devices inside (there's a cafe that will hold your phone for a fee nearby, which would make a great spying target).

That means that journalists who think it important to hear everything that goes on in a hearing will lose out on the SCOOP. But will likely 1) be the more responsible journalists 2) have a better sense of what goes down the people with the SCOOP.

Also, remember you're going to get better reporting from people who've worked this beat for years than from journalists who are political reporters, not DOJ reporters.
