That said, Manafort might be MORE screwed once EDVA takes this over, bc flipping won't get him out of the charges and it's paper case and he's still fucked in any case.

Mueller could also just let EDVA handle it. I await reliable reporting (
@joshgerstein or@ZoeTillman) but it sounds like Ellis might be amenable to EDVA handling it. As I said, these are paper charges. It'd be fairly breathtaking for Ellis to say the charges have to go entirely. -
But i am honestly amused by the implications of an EDVA precedent that says you can't charge defendants to get them to flip. It'd be a devastating ruling in CIA/Pentagon's home turf.

Right, which is why it’s hard to imagine this judge, much as he might have fishy motives in this particular case, actually going there.
