Thousands of East Germans were 'confidential informants' for the Stasi in GDR, and same in Poland. Anyone needing or wanting to preserve useful govt. access played the game. Question is whether she's more than that.+

Ah, but almost all of those those Germans were not informing the head of Stasi!

True enough. But some were, no doubt. Depends on where they stood in the pecking order. Whatever else she may prove to be, NV was certainly well connected, and came from rags to riches quickly as a result.

The key difference in this case I think is that informing is passive, but actively working on behalf is no longer informing, it's being full agent - which is exactly what she did, but used weaker word that misrepresents her actions in vain hope to explain

Um. No. RU (not she) violated an MLAT treaty. Again, this is why knowing wtf MSNBC showed is important. You're making stuff up again.

I'd love to see that happen, and will be curious to see the grounds on which she can be charged. Doubt it will be in relation to things discussed in this thread. Maybe in relation to RU interference in US election, but that's a different matter.

Per the interview, the suggestion is that she told the RU gov't to lie or provide misleading information to the court regarding a questionnaire on Prevezon (and RU gov't obliged). That could be obstruction of justice depending on the substance of the edits involved.

I suppose it's possible. I don't imagine DOJ going there with an MLAT response. Could be dangerous precedent for the US.
