So one of Trump's buddies just went on the record w/the dubious legal (but unprivileged) advice he gave Trump Friday about how to obstruct justice. The same buddy may have been the reason Trump called Cohen Friday. If I'm Mueller I've got the subpoena already written.
I'll add one additional thought -- Goldberg's deliberate choice to go public also had to send a chilling message to Cohen (the boss knows you're going to rat him out). Doesn't that ironically force Cohen to do just that?
I can't think of any better way to make Trump go absolutely nuts than to say his closest advisor might wear a wire.
Totally agree. But doesn't it also make Cohen decide he'd better flip? As in, "how would you like to go on a fishing trip Fredo?" :-)

Hey hey hey... .clearly Pres Trump is completely innocent of all wrongdoing in all matters, and also it's dirty pool that the FBI seized immense piles evidence of crimes by Trump--crimes which he did NOT COMMIT, by the way. Makes perfect sense if your audience is one narcissist.
What if.... the real conversation was Goldberg telling Trump that Cohen had ALREADY flipped and ALREADY worn a wire?
I think called this guy, in time of great panic because.... Goldberg had contacts that would have info on SDNY case against Cohen
Sure is hard to know what 'loyal' means to this tribe, tho. I wouldn't be surprised to see all his cronies abandon him by the fall.

I’m not sure how much “legal risk” will matter if Trump mass-fires DOJ leadership and replaces them all with cronies. AG Don Jr and FBI Director Nunes will be in no hurry to investigate anything Trump-related.

I agree 100%. Goldberg may have been the fire that lit the wick on the Rosenstein petard. Now he won't/can't talk with Cohen anymore. He is flying blind and dangerous.
