My feelings about Barbara Bush aside, when a 92 year old woman who has had the fullest imaginable life chooses hospice care, it seems odd to start grieving. People should get to die with dignity, especially after a really really full life.

Why should one not start to grieve at that point? And in what way is grieving incompatible with her dignity? I don’t understand what you’re saying.

I'm sure the family already has started grieving. But moving to hospice gives them a chance to just be with each other, w/o the medicalized stuff, and to make the most of what time they do have together.
