Good thread. But Comey was in an unenviable position. If he hadn't announced, NYC field office wud have leaked (rem. Guiliani's interview?) to Fox/WSJ and played into DJT's narrative of "it's a rigged system" / house would have attacked comey/McCabe for staying silent.
