Gaddafi gave up WMD, Libya stopped acting like a rogue state. West then intervenes against Gaddafi, his regime falls and he's killed in the streets. Not an encouraging precedent if you're trying to persuade Kim to denuclearize

Iraq gave up WMD, we invaded anyway, hundreds of thousands died. Not saying Libya was ok.

Also relevant, we went to war w Iraq and reached an uneasy truce similar to NK. There is zero chance they are giving up their nukes.
