Isn't it much more likely that he fires Rosenstein and leans on his replacement to clip Mueller's wings without firing him?

That's where he ends up (and I have).

I thought this thread advanced an interesting hypothesis re: a 'replacement' AG https://twitter.com/delavegalaw/status/974105888091906049?s=12 … admittedly could end up as an infinite loop unless the hurry-up-and-go-absolutely-nowhere-but-make-sure-most-folks-have-no-clue tactic is implemented.

My two cents: Pruitt would disregard it, and we wouldn’t be able to stop him if he’s there only as an acting AG. But mercifully Pruitt seems to have disqualified himself over the past month! And as I noted in my thread I doubt Trump will fire Sessions.

Yeah, Pruitt's corruption may be a tremendous gift in disguise.

As a former state AG, Pruitt was on paper a decent AG/DAG replacement — unlike a generic EPA head.

Even if he “Fires Mueller” it’s not like Weismann is going to stop showing up at the office.

It's the last thing he will do. Hard core from both sides would love him to do it so, he doesn't. : ) He can never be accused of being uninformed.
