It's really time for @maggieNYT and @nytmike to take responsibility for setting the red line themselves.

Except they set the line. They were thinking it (or repeating what he told them to ask).

the alternative, where they know he's thinking about doing it but refuse to report anything until he does it, seems a lot more like interference to me.

I'm not complaining that they're reporting on his desire to fire Trump. I'm complaining that they set the red line and have turned it into bait as if it's a fucking game.
