maybe they stole high-tech research that professors were working on with some of the private firms (there's a biotech firm on the list)
They targeted 100,000 accounts and but succeeded in breaching 8,000. Sounds like a dragnet for anything and everything rather than having a specific target. And only 8% success rate. I think that’s good news on the security front.
