I think CA is a big deal--but in large part for reasons that go beyond the election. The potential violations of law are important (Mueller is investigating). The potential RU connection is important (Mueller is investigating).
But Miller is right that all sides do stuff like this. What's different abt Trump this year is voter suppression (tho that's not exclusive to him or even, I think, GOP).
I think extent of coordination with the Mercer pac as well. Trump campaign didn’t put out as much neg advert but had tons of it circulating from PACs & bots and spoke to that neg messaging at his rallies. GOP has certainly been race baiting but avoided candidates being so direct.
