My impression is that former members of Congress (even if not the Senate) generally get a cozier ride. Is that just a facile assumption?
It's pretty funny that reporting today is referring to both Haspel and Pompeo as if they've been confirmed. I expect Haspel will be (tho hope she's not). I honestly was confused for a bit yesterday morning and thought that they were using the FVRA to make Pompeo Acting Secretary of State. Claim Trump wants an ally at State in the run-up to a May Korea summit makes no sense *since Pompeo likely won't be confirmed before May*!
