In fact, it's possible that the instinct to let Nunberg serially melt down on cable TV arises from precisely the kind of Reality TV mindset that gave us President Trump.

Those three are unlike things. And while some were newsworthy, there's a real question about how they were and should be covered. Btw, did you know the Ayers smear first came from Hillary's camp?
-
Lol "Trump's starting WW3 but whatabout The Clenis?" Pathetic.
-
Hillary is not the Clenis.
-
Same note on the Clinton dog-whistle scale. No Hill without Bill, right?

I'd like to think we're in an age where women's careers and more importantly, actions, can be judged independently of their husband's.
-
OK "Trump's starting WW3 but what about Hillary smearing Obama 10 years ago?"
-
Dude, she's replying to someone else's comment, that's why Hillary is relevant. And speaking of let's only talk about Trump, this whataboutism bullshit is Trump's favorite. One can criticize or talk abt more than 1 thing in a day, or even a tweet.

Were the names of list of ppl that the GJ wants emails to/from Nunberg in the public domain before Nunberg shared that list?
-
WRT his testimony? No.

Amidst the meltdown, Nunberg made statements that, if true, were seriously breaking news. Hard to balance gratuity with opportunistic fact finding, but not so clear cut either way.

I disagree. Seeing the reaction of a person involved in this bs is part of the story.

Who knew what was going to come out of his mouth, and when? He chose to expose himself and possibly had worthwhile info to reveal to the rest of us.

I watched his call-in to Katy Tur and his appearance on Ari Melber. The former was repetitive non-sense, but it was the first call. His appearance on Ari (w/experts) was very informative. He was much clearer, less repetitive, and said dozens of newsworthy things.

The core issue is cable news doesn't attempt to cover the news, e.g. how little coverage the WV teacher's strike is getting on MSNBC. They're more than happy to bump political blather for something like this to fill the 24-hours.

I find the Axios faux caring-abt-Nunberg angle more discussing than yesterday's media circle. I'll bet WH talking points will overlap: Nunberg was drunk/high/meltdown thus what he said don't matter much OK w ur point, but 1) was newsworthy 2) happened fast

Jeet gives some historical Nixon context to this line of "feeling sorry" as a way to discredit people who say critical thingshttps://twitter.com/HeerJeet/status/971023175449391104 …
