Furthermore, it's not really clear we HAVE seen that wrt the Russian investigation. Especially w/Papadopoulos we seem to have seen opposite.https://twitter.com/bradheath/status/969241510259625987 …

The investigation has produced a fascinating mix of "this is the hammer DOJ drops on everybody" and Rick Gates gets to go on spring break.

Yeah, I have yet to see a hammer as bad as you see in drug cases. W/Pap they still hadn't gotten call records before his interviews. And I've seen more dubious looking FISC orders, easily (including w/Gartenlaub, who's appealing).

I was reminded today of an 11th Cir. case in which the FBI knew that one of its informants in a wiretap application got his dirt through a pay-to-snitch scheme, the FBI left that fact out, said the informant was reliable, and the court's answer was basically whatever.

I rest my, err, uh, your case. There will be corners of this that look aggressive. The corner touching Trump's aides aren't that corner, IMO.

Hell, I'm still seeing pieces wringing hands about using either 702 and/or "warrants" to obtain the business records in the IRA indictment.https://www.buzzfeed.com/thomasfrank/intelligence-experts-still-marveling-at-the-details-in …
