Was taking your bet metaphorically. Manafort has too much ego to flip and he has all the goods on the Trump organization Russian money laundering schemes. He knows he gets a pardon post conviction.

For sure, but Kremlin-tied oligarchs probably would want Manafort dead regardless of whether he flips on Trump (lose ends) so he's best bet is probably lifetime protection for him & his family. So witness protection might be better for him.
